oh, hey there blog..sorry I've neglected you waaaaaaaay too long. I have so much going on in my head that I figured I needed to let it all out..and what better way than to type away.
This semester is absolutely flying by. I don't mean a little..I mean like WHOA. It's almost FREAKIN' APRIL! I'm definitely welcoming summer, but there's SO. MUCH. school work to do between now and then. AHH.
Anyway, today I had a bit of a midlife crisis while in one of my classes..then I had to call both of my parents and bawl my little eyes out. School is way more stressful than ANYONE EVER told me it was gonna be this difficult to try and balance the crap ton of work, with a social life, working out, and a job! good grief.
I know I'm complaining and venting..I just needed to get all this out. I have to make some pretty life-changing decisions here in the next few days.
But enough of that, back to my title of this blog.
As I was driving to and from LR today, I thought about how blessed I am. I just got back from a cruise with the fam for SB, and it was amazing. How many people can say that? The Lord has blessed my parents abundantly with their jobs, and it never ceases to amaze me.
I live with 3 Christian gals that teach me more and more everyday..how many people can say that? I'm part of an incredible ministry that challenges and encourages me every single day. BLESSED.
I am getting an education...I always have food whenever I want it..I have a warm bed to sleep in at night..
The list could go on and on..
The point of this blog is for ME to step back and realize how much I HAVE going for me..Even on the day's when I want to pull a poor me.
I'll leave you with these lyrics to a fabulous Casting Crowns song..If I can just remember these lyrics throughout my days..I'll be just fine :)
Love you all.
Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day

Day Two: Favorite Season and Why?
Well, I guess my favorite season is a toss up between summer/fall/winter. HAHA. I know it's 3 of the 4, but there are things about each season that are very appealing and important to me. Let's start with summer..
Oh summer..I love summer first and foremost because I live in THE most beautiful part of the country, and so Lake Norfork is a necessity..as is the river. My parents have a boat, so we spend almost everyday on the lake, tubing, skiing, and just chillin' out. I love lake days! We also love to float the Buffalo, so we spend a few days a summer out on it. I also love the summer time because some of my best memories are from church camp. I used to spend a couple weeks out of my summer camping at Camp Tahkodah. After I out-grew the camping age, I went back as a counselor. Best summers of my life. The summer before last I was a youth intern at University Church and absolutely had the time of my life..swimming parties, movies, mission trips, VBS, ice cream dates, Monday Night girls nights, Sidewalk Tuesdays...and the list could go on.
I love the fall, too! Fall = FOOTBALL SEASON! I get so excited after school starts, because that means college football isn't too far behind! I had the opportunity to see 3 Hog games this season, and they were an absolute blast. I saw the Razorbacks ALMOST beat Alabama, saw them in Dallas play A&M, AND I saw them crush Vandy @ homecoming. I'd LOVE to go to the Sugar Bowl..too bad tickets are out the roof.
Winter..oh, winter. In high school I loved winter because that meant basketball roadtrips. Winter time meant conference season, and our closest conference game was Searcy..2 and a half hours from MH. I loved getting out of school early and spending it with my teammates. One of my favorite "winter" moments was when we played @ Cabot, my junior year. Our game was supposed to be on Friday, but it snowed..and if anyone knows anything about MH, we shut our town down with even one flake of snow. So, we waited in the lockerroom to hear the verdict..and we were told it was canceled. I was so upset. We were SO prepared..we were going to beat Cabot for the first time ever. We were told it would be played the next day, if all went well with the weather. The next day was Saturday, and a bunch of us were taking the ACT. As soon as the ACT was over we got on the bus. It was a long trip to Cabot, but we were focused. I can't remember what the half time score was, but 2nd half we came out with a vengeance. There were .6 seconds left when one of my senior teammates got fouled. 1-in-1. Makes the first, misses the 2nd (thanks Mac). 65-64 Cabot. My teammate got the rebound on Mac's miss and tried to go up with it, but one of Cabot's players literally jumped on her back, no call, Cabot wins by one. And if that isn't bad enough, my dad gets THROWN OUT for telling the ref he was terrible. Yep, it happened. Anyway, that was probably WAY, way too much info for this blog, but I kinda have a love/hate relationship with that story. :) Last but certainly not least, I love COLLEGE BASKETBALL! It's in it's prime in the winter, and it's my favorite. I'm hoping this winter will be the best, and that I open some tickets for Christmas! I can dream, can't I? :)
Okay, this was a super long post (Sorry!), but as you can see I have my reasons!
Love!

first blog post!
Okay, so, I decided to do a 30-day blog challenge. I've been inspired by a couple of friends, and I thought it would be neat. So here goes nothin'!
Day One: Introduce yourself, add a recent photo, and give 15 interesting facts about yourself..
Sooo..I'm Caitlin, and I'm in my 4th year of college..Don't let that confuse you, I'm not graduating this year or anything. Currently I'm a Speech Pathology major, but I don't know if that's what God wants me to do with the rest of my life. I have 2 younger sisters who never cease to amaze me, and two incredible, Christian parents who have been married for 26 years :). I love where I was born and raised, and just recently started to appreciate it.
Interesting facts:
1. I'm definitely a daddy's girl.
2. I miss breaking down every play of every game with my dad.
3. I am probably the most emotional person you'll ever meet.
4. I can water ski.
5. I love spending summers out on our boat.
6. I miss my best friends from high school.
7. I've played basketball at 2 different colleges.
8. York College will always hold a special place in my heart.
9. I want to be a coach someday.
10. I wish I could quit school and go overseas to do mission work.
11. Seattle Spring Break Mission Trip changed my life.
12. I love beach vacations with my family.
13. Going to a Duke/UNC basketball game at Cameron Indoor is my dream.
14. I have 2 of the most supportive parents in the world..I mean, who lets their kid transfer 4 times to chase a dream?
15. Although my sisters and I fight, I wouldn't trade them for the world..what kind of sisters travel 2 nights a week to watch their sister play basketball..or travel 10 hours one way?..or how about spending entire summers traveling to sit in a hot gym? Never complaining, only congratulating? Mine. Love them.
